Webster Parish 4-H Fashion and Interior Design Workshop Presentation – Minden Press-Herald

Webster Parish 4-H will introduce two new series of workshops to their program this year, and one of them will focus on career development, artistic principles, agriculture and history as they relate to fashion and interior industries. The series will consist of five different workshops that will take place during the school holidays for Webster Parish Schools.

Throughout the series of workshops, 9e-12e Webster Parish 4-H grade members will learn the process of creating, designing, marketing, and buying goods in the textile industry, as well as the science behind textiles through different scientific experiments. Students will gain real-world knowledge through guest lecturers and research-based programs and activities, and they will have the chance to visit a university in the state to learn more about opportunities in these industries once they get there. they will have graduated from high school.

The dates and topics covered will be:

WORKSHOP 1: OCTOBER 11 (Finding your style: trends vs timelessness and the elements and principles of design)

WORKSHOP 2: NOVEMBER 21 (Retrospectives: historical trends in home and costume and closet culture: where do our clothes come from?)

WORKSHOP 3: FEB 24 (Fashion and Interior Design Careers and Opportunities in Louisiana State 4-H)

WORKSHOP 4: APRIL 20 (Dress design competition)
