The Office of Faculty Development will host a workshop on transitioning to committee chairing

The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) invites faculty to “From Member to Chair: Strategies for Effective Committee Leadership”, a workshop that will address the broader skill set needed to successfully transition from committee member to committee chair. committee. The workshop will take place via Zoom on Monday, March 21 from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Adopting a combined didactic and interactive approach, this workshop will address the process-oriented and leadership skills needed to effectively lead committees and boards. Topics include agenda setting, voting rights and procedures, clear communication, building consensus, maintaining motivation, and who to turn to when additional support is needed.

The workshop, presented by Sarah PoissantOFD Chancellor’s Leadership Fellow and Associate Professor of Communication Disorders, is part of OFD’s LEAF (Leadership Essentials for All Faculty) series, an initiative for all faculty members who want to learn more about leadership and improve their leadership skills.
