TALMA will host a media training workshop and lunch at the congress

The American Legion Media Alliance (TALMA) will be sponsoring an in-person and virtual media training workshop, as well as an awards luncheon, during the 103rd National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday, August 29.

The TALMA Workshop and Awards Luncheon are open to non-members. TALMA encourages potential members to attend both events to learn more about TALMA membership and the value it offers.

Media training. The Media Training Workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Central Time, with a two-hour break for the TALMA Awards Luncheon. Topics include how to:

Start a Facebook page, advertise on it and use Facebook to generate likes

Develop best practices for photography skills

Use text messages to communicate with members

· Design visual content for print and online with Canva

· Organize virtual meetings

Support and promote the American Legion’s Be The One campaign

Register for the in-person media training workshop on August 29 at legion.org/talma/workshop. The workshop will be held at the Wisconsin Center, Room 102, Section D, First Floor.

The workshop will also be streamed live on facebook.com/americanlegionhq.

Lunch. TALMA will host a special awards luncheon which will include recognition of the competition winners, presentations by guest speakers and a delicious meal. The meal will be a buffet of pulled smoked chicken, shrimp and crab cakes, coleslaw, potato salad, grilled vegetables, Wisconsin cheeses, desserts and more. Lunch will begin at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Milwaukee, Wright Ballroom, Section C, Fourth Floor. It is free for TALMA award winners. For others and guests, the price is $20.
