Southern Christian Writers’ Conference to host writing workshop in Hattiesburg

Bellevue Baptist Church in Hattiesburg will host a winter writing workshop coordinated by the Southern Christian Writers Conference on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

The workshop, titled “Write What You Love and Love What You Write”, will focus on participants rediscovering their passion for writing, focusing on writing in the new year and teaching how to make their writing the best it can be.

The workshop begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday and continues until 4 p.m., with four learning sessions and a timeshare included. Breakfast and lunch will also be included.

The workshop is designed for writers of all genres and is particularly suitable for writers of faith.

The workshop facilitators are Lori White, owner of editing firm Watalula Pags and book author; and Cheryl Wray, coordinator of the Southern Christian Writers Conference and published author and prolific freelance writer.

The in-person workshop (which is limited to the first 40 registrants) is only $30, while a virtual workshop is also available for just $20.

The in-person workshop includes: four sessions; breakfast, lunch and snacks; sharing time (bring your work in progress and/or your ideas!), workshop kit and door prizes.

The virtual workshop includes the four sessions, the virtual sharing time and the workshop package. The virtual workshop will be streamed live via a private Facebook page, and it will also be archived for later viewing.

The Southern Christian Writers Conference is an organization founded in Tuscaloosa, AL, in 1991 for writers of faith.

It holds an annual workshop in June that reaches around 200 people on average. It also organizes seasonal workshops in regions of the south-east. It is the first to be held in Hattiesburg.
