SAJ will organize a public speaking workshop in July | Dispatch

The Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) will host a Public Speaking and In-Person Presentation Workshop on Wednesday, July 27.

The six-hour class will begin at 9 a.m. and will be led by award-winning journalist and public speaking coach, Janella Precius, an experienced television and radio news presenter with over two decades of experience in media and communications.

The course will explore the fundamentals of public speaking with a focus on preparation, practice and presentation skills to help participants become more effective public speakers. The seminar will also examine fears of public speaking and explore methods by which speakers can channel their anxiety to improve their delivery.

Additionally, the course will provide concepts and demonstrations on the importance of key elements of public speaking, including body language, storytelling techniques, preparing for media interviews, and knowing your audience. Participants will also have the opportunity to show off the techniques they have learned and receive feedback on how to improve their speaking ability.
