RSCC Hosts Registration Rally, FAFSA Completion Workshop Wednesday – WYSH AM 1380

Roane State Community College will be very busy this Wednesday, May 25andwith two events planned to help new and returning students prepare for fall classes.

The first we’ll talk to you about today features Roane State’s One Stop and Advising Resource Center hosting virtual meetups as part of the college enrollment rally for students on Wednesday, May 25.and.

The purpose of this event is to register students for fall classes and ensure their financial aid is in place. Fall 2022 classes are scheduled to start August 17and.

During the first half of the appointment, students will meet with their academic advisor and obtain their PIN for online registration. The second half of the appointment will be with a member of the One Stop team to discuss student financial aid.

Officials say these appointments are set up for students who do not currently have a success coach Roane State. Registration for sessions is available online at Students are encouraged to register for their preferred session as soon as possible.

The Roane State Financial Aid Team invites current and prospective students to a Virtual FAFSA Completion Workshop, which is also scheduled for Wednesday, May 25and.

During sessions, students will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a financial aid expert to ensure their 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is filed accurately and in a timely manner.

These meetings last approximately one hour, with students able to choose a time slot that best suits their schedule. Session start times are available between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. EST, but are expected to fill up quickly. Students must register by noon on Tuesday, May 24and to reserve a place.

Once registration is complete, students will receive a Zoom meeting invitation via email. Please note that all students will need to have the following information ready for the session:

  • Social Security number
  • Alien registration number (if you are not a US citizen)
  • 2020 federal income tax returns, 2020 W-2s, and other earned money statements. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Recovery Tool.)
  • As well: Make sure you and your parents have created an FSA ID. Please do so before the session.
