Ravenna – Can’t wait to get back to the garden? So why not start the season early with some great gardening tips to improve your soil health and reduce the amount of chemicals you use?
Portage County Master Gardeners and Portage SWCD are collaborating to offer a VIRTUAL workshop on Saturday, February 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. titled “IPM & Cover Crops for the Home Garden”. This workshop is free and open to the public.
Ashley Kulhanek with OSU Extension will present the key elements of an IPM program and walk participants through some basic strategies for managing garden pests. Also with us for this event is Ann Brandt with Walnut Creek Seeds. Improving soil health should be a goal of every gardener and Ann can provide a crash course in soil health better than anyone! Ann will focus on how incorporating cover crops into the vegetable garden can improve soil health.
Both Ashley and Ann have wonderful teaching styles that will complement a virtual learning experience. Please join us!
