The Greenwich Energy Management Advisory Committee (EMAC), in conjunction with the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission, invites members of the building community and the public to a presentation and discussion on the project energy regulations.
The proposed regulations reflect EMAC’s goal of advising Selectmen on ways to “save more and pollute less” in terms of energy consumption. The regulations are intended to increase P&Z’s visibility of energy efficiency and renewable energy practices in proposed buildings, and to direct applicants to focus on energy efficiency opportunities and the use of energy systems renewable.
Workshop participants will address topics and questions on energy efficiency costs, savings and risks; market demand for efficient buildings; and the impact of this settlement on P&Z.
Contributions and ideas from the public and industry are sought by EMAC and P&Z as part of a months-long effort to seek input from architects, builders, developers, energy modelers and organizations local and regional certification.
