REASI, February 17: In an effort to improve investigative skills in NDPS matters, Reasi Police today conducted a one-day NDPS Matters Workshop for district police investigators.
In addition to the ASP, SDPOs, SHO investigators—sub-inspectors, trainee sub-inspectors, and the district assistant sub-inspector also participated in the workshop.
The Crime Wing’s team of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) officers with a wealth of experience in battling drug trafficking rings and bringing them into receivership gave a lecture emphasizing on the role of smugglers and currency manipulators (SAFEMA) in the confiscation of goods perceived as drug proceeds.
A brainstorming session of officers deliberated on common procedural omissions during the investigation during the seizure of prohibited drugs and the collection of related evidence under the NDPS Act as well as the “benefits of doubts drawn by the defendants.
Shailender Singh, SSP Reasi, who remained present during the session, explained that the objective of this course was to improve investigation skills.
“Police investigators are an important component of the justice system in the country and there is a need to strengthen them with improved knowledge and skills,” he said.
Singh thanked the ANTF team for guiding the Reasi District Police investigators.
