National workshop organized: The Tribune India

Karnal: A one-day national workshop on “Inflibnet: Open Educational Services and Resources” was organized by Dyal Singh College Library, Karnal, online. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Aditi Sherya Balli, Head of Botany Department. Dr Ashima Gakhar, principal of the college, explained the college’s efforts to maintain academic pace in the time of Covid. The workshop brought together 400 participants from 24 states in India. The two resource persons, Prof. Manoj K Joshi, Department of Library and Information Science, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and Dr. Jeevesh Bansal, Librarian, Punjab University, Chandigarh, emphasized the importance of online learning.

Cadet brings laurels

Bhiwani: NCC Cadet Senior NCO Harash Pratap Singh, a student of Banwari Lal Jindal Suiwala (BLJS) College in Tosham Town of Bhiwani District won laurels by participating in the day’s parade of the Republic 2022 in Rajpth. NCC Officer of BLJS College, Tosham, Captain Jashwant Singh says OUA Cadet Harash Pratap Singh not only showed his caliber at different levels of selection but also brought laurels to the college, 11 Haryana Battalion NCC Bhiwani and Haryana State, being selected for the Republic Day Parade. The principal of the college, Dr. Rakesh Bhardwaj, and all the staff members congratulated the cadet on his achievements.

Online inter-college quiz

Faridabad: “Sarfarosh”, the patriots club of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, has organized an online inter-university quiz competition with the theme “[email protected]” under the “Azaadi Ka Amritmahotsava”. The quiz focused on the country’s achievements over the past 75 years, said Dr. Satish Ahuja, senior director of the DAV Institute of Management. A total of 19 teams from various institutions participated in the competition. The first position was won by Harmeet Kaur, Vaibhav Aggarwal, Hitesh Kaushik of BBA (II), DAVIM, the second position by Akshay Paruthi, Eshaan Kharbanda, Harshit Punera of BCA course, DAVIM, and the third position went to Vishakha, Anjali, Diksha Kathuria from BSc(H), DAVIM. E-certificates were given to winners and participants.

National conference organized

Panipat: A national online conference was organized by the Department of History, IB (PG) College on “The Social Bases of the Freedom Struggle: Haryana Revisited”. The organizer, Dr Rameshwar Das, Associate Professor and HoD, highlighted the study of history as a relentless process aimed at understanding society, its interconnections and developmental processes, which was followed by the inaugural address of the Dr. Ajay Kumar Garg, Principal, IB College.
