The objective of the training program was to orient selected faculty with the simulation lab simulators and to provide an overview of the basic concepts of simulation-based teaching methodology. They have been extensively trained on the subject to leverage their expertise to conduct cascade training for health teams at their respective stations.
The training was delivered to the participants by Dr. Ruchi Sharma (ESS, Laerdal Medical India) under the direct supervision and support of Managing Director-FW, MCH & Immunization J&K & Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman and Deputy Director Dentistry Dr Sanjay Sharma.
The training program was an initiative of DHS Jammu with the aim of improving health care indicators in the region.
Many such trainings have been conducted since the establishment of JSSC which has enhanced the capacity and skills of health care providers across Jammu Division, resulting in reduced medical errors and improved results for patients, whose results are visible in the field, because patients are now stabilized in the peripheral health facilities themselves.
The three-day training concluded with the commitment of the participants to take over and propose a roadmap to implement the lessons of the training in their hospital environment. The process of training health workers at JSSC to improve their skills will also continue in the near future.
