FME holds six-state workshop in Ekiti – The Sun Nigeria

The The Federal Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the World Bank, in its determination to ensure the success of the Innovation, Development and Effectiveness in Skills Acquisition (IDEAS) project, organized a two-day workshop for monitoring and evaluation as well as those responsible for innovation grants.

The officers came from six participating states of Ekiti, Benue, Edo, Abia, Gombe and Kano.

In a message to the ceremony delivered by the Director of Technology and Science Education (DTSE), Ms. Elizabeth Adedigba, Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu reiterated the importance of monitoring and evaluation for achieve the required objective of the project.

The Minister of Education explained that the training workshop would provide an opportunity for monitoring and evaluation officers to improve their capacity to effectively implement monitoring and evaluation activities in the four components of the project. .

He pointed out that the training aims to achieve the sole objective of capacity building, monitoring and evaluation in the management of the IDEAS project.

Earlier in her welcoming remarks, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Dr (Ms) Kofoworola Olabisi Adeyire, represented by Mr Olukayode Babade, Chairman of the Council for Technical and Vocational Education, commended the Federal Ministry of Education and the World Bank for organizing the workshop as it is.

Babade further commended the World Bank for the recent mobilization of funds granted to beneficiary states and the concomitant approval of the institutional development plans of technical colleges in Ekiti State.

She also appreciated the approval of grant agreement forms for technical colleges.

According to her, the training of M&E officers is the key to the successful implementation of projects, which will undoubtedly improve the judicious use of project funds, better monitoring and the consistent achievement of the development objectives of the project. project.

She advised monitoring and evaluation officers to seize the golden opportunity to harness the right knowledge that would enable them to perform optimally and be dexterous in their projects, adding that this is the only way to achieve the project objectives.
