Chatham Soil and Water Conservation District Announces Resource Conservation Workshop for Eligible Students

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications for the Resource Conservation Workshop scheduled for June 26-July 1, 2022 at NC State University.

The Resource Conservation Workshop is a week-long workshop that involves study and hands-on participation in a wide range of conservation topics. Students are housed in NC State University campus dormitories under the direction of resident advisors. Students will learn about natural resources and their management in today’s global environment. Prizes and scholarships can be won and are presented to students through several award programs.

The Resource Conservation Workshop is designed to accommodate up to 104 students. The Chatham Soil and Water Conservation District will sponsor at least one student to attend. Eligible students include high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have shown an interest in natural resource conservation.

The Resource Conservation Workshop is sponsored by the NC Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts in conjunction with the NC Division of Soil and Water Conservation, NC State University Crop and Soil Science Department, and Soil and Water Conservation Society Hugh Hammond Bennett Chapter.
