To familiarize students with the specifics of bakery products, the School of Hotel Management of the Innocent Hearts group of institutions organized a workshop on “Bakery and Pastry”. The contact person for the workshop was Chief Manpreet Kaur (an entrepreneur). The chef started the session with the role of measurement and temperature in the preparation of baked goods. Chef Manpreet also motivated the students to start their own businesses to fulfill life’s dreams and passion. Chef Gagandeep Humpal (HoD, School of Hotel Management) thanked the resource person for sharing his valuable skills and experience with the students.
AIDS awareness program
Jalandhar: DAV University organized an awareness program to educate students about AIDS. The University’s Artistia club educated students on the symptoms, causes, treatment, and how to get tested for the disease. Vice-Chancellor Dr Jasbir Rishi congratulated the organizing team. Dr Rishi further emphasized the need to motivate students to adopt healthy practices in life and to spread knowledge about myths and promote their prevention. The CV also highlighted that the world is suffering from new diseases, so we must take constructive steps to stop them so that our planet can live in safety. Registrar Dr KN Kaul also appreciated the efforts of the students. Dr RK Seth explained to the students that the red ribbon is a symbol of awareness and that support must be given to people living with HIV. About twenty students from all fields took part in the event. The highest authorities of the institution judged the poster creation competition on this occasion. Pratiksha (Department of Zoology), Anjali (microbiology) and Navneet (M.Sc. chemistry) received first, second and third prizes, respectively. The appreciation prize was awarded to Nency (B.Sc. Agriculture).
Investiture at Lyallpur College
Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus held an investiture ceremony for members of the Student Welfare Association, which is the largest group of students created with the aim of instilling leadership qualities in students. Positions of various designations were filled after conducting interviews. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director, KCL Group, honored the occasion as the guest of honor. Dr SK Sood, Director of LKCTC, congratulated the students and motivated them for their responsibilities. KCL Group Deputy Director Dr RS Deol also praised and advised the students to be role models and reached out to the student association for its smooth functioning. The holders were given badges by the guest of honor of the 2021-2022 session. During this session, Dhriti Jain will act as chairman, Hargun Singh Rana as vice chairman, Snovia as secretary, Harinder Kaur and Rudransh as co-secretaries and the members are Kunal, Simran, Sashank, Priyanshu, Ria, Akash Soni, Jyoti Kumari, Shivam Sangar, Heena and Harsimran.
IAF Advertising Fair
Disha Cell of the Indian Air Force organized an awareness campaign on career opportunities in the Indian Air Force in conjunction with 1 Pb Air Squadran and Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. On this occasion, CO Wing Commander Deepak Sharma, 1 Pb Air Sqn Jalandhar, Sqn Leader Prashant Verma and Wing Commander Ranjan were present. They spoke to the cadets and allayed the cadets’ doubts about the SSB (Service Selection Board) selection process. IAF’s Disha Cell has developed an Induction and Advertising Exhibition Vehicle (IPEV) that features a flight simulator and other gadgets aimed at showcasing various facets of the IAF. No less than 350 cadets from various institutions in the district visited this vehicle. The resource persons also honored Principal Professor Dr Ajay Sareen.
