The American Concrete Institute Teachers’ workshop 2022 is scheduled for July 2022, dates 18-19 and 26-27. This year marks a return to an in-person format at ACI World Headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
The workshop will take place in two parts; the first will be an online-only event on July 18-19, and the second will be a face-to-face event to be held at ICA headquarters on July 26-27. Attendees have the option to register for both virtual events and in-person parties, or the virtual party only.
The Teacher’s Workshop is designed to provide instructors in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Materials Science, and Construction Management programs with the latest teaching tools and techniques to effectively engage students in courses that cover concrete structural design, construction, materials and pavements. Distinguished, nationally known faculty and industry representatives will present information and resources to help professors prepare or refine their real-world courses. The synchronous online portion of the workshop will focus on providing educational resources suitable for both online and face-to-face formats. Although the online portion focuses on providing resources, interactive online sessions are also planned to facilitate discussion and the exchange of ideas.
Face-to-face sessions at ICA headquarters will be highly interactive. Participants will participate in numerous breakout sessions to develop course objectives, student learning objectives in the context of the thematic modules, teaching materials, laboratory activities and assessments. The breakout sessions will be guided by faculty from the Teachers’ Workshop and will provide ample opportunity to exchange teaching ideas with faculty and other participants. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance for attending the workshop.
