100 experts take part in an anesthesia workshop

More than 100 physicians and healthcare professionals honed their skills by updating their knowledge of anesthesiology during a two-day workshop.

The education and training workshop was part of the James Cook Regional Anesthesia Course and Pocus Workshop held at Clemenceau Medical Center Dubai in collaboration with Dubai Health Authority.

The participants were specialists in the field of anesthesiology, emergency medicine and related subjects.

Delegates attended the workshop in small groups of five participants each with an instructor to get hands-on learning of needle and catheter techniques on phantoms as well as tips and tricks with international experts in regional anesthesia by ultrasound.

The workshop was presented by 15 doctors specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, with the participation of approximately 100 beneficiaries of doctors, technicians and people interested in the field of anesthesia.

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Head of Pediatric and Neonatal Anesthesia Department at Al Tawam Hospital and Head of Pediatric Anesthesia Department at Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, during an interview with the media, pointed out the importance of this workshop, which aims to provide medical advice and guidance to trainees and technicians in the field of anesthesia on the uses and functions of the latest technologies.

“Advanced medical and technological systems have undergone rapid evolution over the past two years, in order to provide ideal service to patients and improve the quality of medical services for optimal care without pain, whether before or after the surgeries. This reflects on the comfort of patients and their access to the maximum possible care which reflects on their health and recovery, in addition to reducing the length of their hospital stay,” he said.

Dr. Abdul Aziz explained that this regional workshop includes an educational program that provides hands-on training in these advanced techniques in the region under the supervision of the most qualified experts and practitioners in the field of anesthesia, while ensuring community outreach. aimed at reassuring patients to perform painless surgeries and obtain better results in addition to helping them recover faster.
